The Napa, California–based design firm Oldani & Santiago came into being around a question the couple joked about when they first moved in together: “How are our styles going to merge?” Each brought to the relationship an extensive professional history and a well-curated sense of style and inspiration for all aspects of design. With Oldani’s background in architectural fabrication and mechanical engineering, and Santiago’s work in staging, event planning, and cosmetology, together they had all the design talent needed to launch their firm.

Together, they’ve been designing unique environments and custom pieces that embrace both beauty and function. Their dedication to natural materials, craftsmanship, and thoughtful spatial planning creates visually striking spaces that offer a positive somatic effect on the people who use them. Luigi’s path as a creator began at a young age, accompanying his artist father on construction sites. He grew up watching raw materials transform into spaces and art through the hands of skilled craftspeople and artists. This inspired a degree in mechanical engineering at UC Berkeley and the founding of his design and fabrication studio, https://www.oldaniartstudio.com/. His deep relationship with materials, enthusiasm for expression through craft, and reverence for the artist’s ability to evoke emotion through medium are the driving forces behind his work.

With a 25-year career in the beauty industry and a lifelong love of travel, Brooklyn has honed an expert ability to connect with people around their aesthetics—both personally and environmentally. Her understanding of flow, scale, color, and emotional response within a space is the foundation of her design and hospitality style. Brooklyn’s innate sense of space and her ability to decode that “je ne sais quoi” not only balance but complement Luigi’s technical prowess.
